Description

Between the mountains of historical holy city of Makkah Al-Awali District, KSA – AMAQ constructed a 7145m2 state-of-the art modern day retail showroom with the intention to provide the best world-class customer experience to the residents and tourists of Makkah.

Scope included all Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, HVAC, Waterproofing,Architectural, Civil, Elevators, Plumbing, Low-Current, Fire Fighting, Fire alarm, Data, Security and IT works. Above the showroom on the mezzanine floor we constructed a staff accommodation floor providing the best livable atmosphere and ambiance for the store members who work hard day in and day out.

Also in our scope was to obtain all Civil Defense & Municipal approvals.

Challenges Faced

1) Time:- 87 days was a mammoth target to achieve as Covid restricted a lot of free movement which we enjoyed in pre-covid era. Also, motivating teams to battle against time to achieve daily set targets ensuring top-of-the-line quality in work reports was a work of art on this specific project as scope was very gigantic, but that’s where AMAQ beats all its competitors.

2) Logistics Challenge:-Makkah is a place of worship so it does not have most of the construction/fitOut related materials hence all of our supply chain was sourced through either Riyadh City (1200 KMs away) or Jeddah City (200 KMs away). But hats off to our procurement team for delivering every screw on-time, on budget – as always.
